Primary purpose of job
To provide engineering, operations, regulatory and supply chain management input for all exploration and development well work. All work to be conducted in a safe, effective, legal, and environmentally responsible manner.
1. Ensure full understanding and compliance with Corporate, Directorate and Departmental QHSE policies and procedures.
2. Develops specific well plans in close collaboration with the Asset Development and Field Operations teams
3. Provides all Drilling & Completions’s input during the planning and execution phase of the project. Identifies and evaluates offset wells. Conducts internal well design reviews and risk assessments for assigned wells. Develops well designs and drilling programmes. Documents all well design changes using the MoC process.
4. Provides technical support on daily drilling operations and is the primary contact for field engineering issues. Monitors daily morning report, and facilitates data. Error corrections and coding. Primary responsibility for well file population and management for assigned wells.
5. Provides full time engineering support to assigned drilling rig(s). Provides internal and external benchmarking and end of well reports. Coordinates and communicates end of well reviews.
6. Manage operational and QHSE performance of assigned contracts. Responsible for preparing tenders, analyzing vendor response, awarding contracts, and administering assigned contracts. Assists with timely procurement of material, equipment and personnel. Reviews and approves invoices for accuracy. 7. Provides relief for (Senior) Drilling & Completions Engineer, or Drilling Supervisor, as required, during their absence.
Experience & Skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English language.
• Minimum 5 years Drilling Operations Engineering experience with an Operating Company (including 2 years of well site operations and 5 years with an IOC or NOC).
• High level of competence (ie, expert user) Landmark EDT software specially STRESSCHECK, COMPASS & WELLPLAN applications and knowledge of WELLCAT.
