We’re seeking a skilled and driven Drilling Engineer to design and execute well pad construction that supports safe, efficient drilling throughout the life of the well. This role blends office leadership with field execution—ideal for engineers who thrive in both environments.

Work Schedule: Office-based Monday–Friday with ~30% field time
Location: Midland, Texas

Be a self-directed professional who maximizes asset value through risk-managed, value-based decision making, ensuring well locations are safe, efficient, and built to last.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

Field Operations

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with all contractors and personnel on location

• Maintain field cost estimates within 5% of actuals

• Attend new location stakings with the land team and verify operational viability

• Oversee new pad builds and facility pad construction to meet engineering specifications

• Manage on-site logistics, vendors, and third-party personnel throughout the life of the well

• Ensure full compliance with all laws, regulations, and safety standards

• Confirm site readiness before rig mobilization

• Gain hands-on rig exposure and support drilling operations when appropriate

Office & Engineering

• Provide weekly updates and monthly cost accruals for locations

• Maintain KMZ location records and documentation

• Coordinate road and pad repairs with internal teams

• Register pits with regulatory authorities prior to rig arrival

• Oversee site reclamation, dewatering, and reserve pit closure

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure build sites meet all operational requirements

• Continuously optimize processes and identify performance improvements

• Evaluate vendor performance, cost efficiency, and operational quality

🔹 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)

• Strong Risk Management and Management of Change (MOC) knowledge

• Familiarity with HESMS and applicable governmental regulations

• Well Control Certification

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Presentation and reporting capability

• Experience with Landmark EDM Applications
