About the job
Develop automation solutions for the drilling industry. Develop electrical and controls software based design requirements. Develop machine control algorithms for PLC systems. Ensure end to end delivery of automated processes. Deliver quality by applying coding and architectural standards and thorough testing Ensure rig applications remain fully operational, utilizing additional resources and making site visits to deliver timely resolution. Analyze and interpret drilling data. Generate design documentation. Perform troubleshooting and debugging. Interpret client requirements and produce design parameters to accurately meet specification and budget. Apply engineering principles to address technical issues and deliver creative solutions. Ensure end to end delivery of automated processes. Provide technical support to external and internal customers. Draft operation manuals. Ensure accurate recording, classification and storage of data. Continuously identify and implement automation industry best practices. Identify opportunities to improve work processes. Execute all work in full compliance with industry and internal standards.
Job Requirements:
Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
Position requires:
1. Develop automated processes to integrate to the current controls system.
2. Optimize Drilling operations by building digital solutions.
3. Perform data analysis and develop machine learning models.
4. Test, analyze and resolve technical issues, while writing new code or revising code, which helps drive business results.
5. PLC and HMI programming and debugging.
6. Provide test cases and perform testing of design solutions.
7. Writing user manuals and documentation.
