Role Purpose
Operate, monitor, and maintain the main power plant and associated systems onboard to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
ERO 2nd: 1 year as ERO 3rd + 3 years total as Officer of the Watch on DP vessels or drilling rigs
ERO 3rd: 1 year as Officer of the Watch on DP vessels or drilling rigs
Engineer Officer Certificate Class 4 or equivalent (STCW III/1)
Mandatory (Canada only)
BST • H₂S • Regulatory Awareness • WHMIS
Key Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and repair power generation, propulsion, and auxiliary systems.
Monitor power consumption and distribution.
Ensure compliance with Seadrill’s Code of Conduct, QHSE, and permit-to-work systems.
Conduct daily inspections, drills, and maintain accurate logs.
Maintain engine room cleanliness, readiness, and proper handovers.
Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance to avoid downtime.
Supervise and train Motor Man and other subordinates.
Coordinate with marine department for fuel, water, and consumables.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all emergency and safety systems are fully operational.
Report and act promptly on non-compliances.
Participate in drills, training, and performance assessments.
