Job Description

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain all rig floor drill string handling and hoisting equipment as directed by the Driller.
• Operate and maintain all related tools and other equipment required to run casing, run and retrieve drill string, riser, Subsea equipment and specialized tools as required.
• Assist as required during all rig floor tooling make up and as directed by the Driller / Toolpusher.
• Participate and contribute in the following activities:
  • (a) Safety meetings
  • (b) Training sessions
  • (c) Outside schools
  • (d) Safety drills and inspections
• Must be knowledgeable regarding the various functions of the other departments for safe and efficient interface of job duties.
• Must possess the ability and knowledge to recognize/detect signs of well event and respond decisively to control well bore pressures using IBOP valves, choke and kill manifold as directed by Driller.
• Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

High School Diploma

Experience

• The Company primarily promotes experienced Roustabouts to this position. New hires will preferably possess current experience as a Roughneck or Derrickman on a floater.
• Successfully pass National Institute of Drug Abuse and Department of Transportation drug screen, or equivalent if non-U.S. hiring location.
• Successfully demonstrate physical ability to perform essential job functions.
• Must successfully satisfy all applicable international regulatory body and client training certification and / or marine license / document requirements.
• Must meet company age requirement as per Helix Policy Manual. Must be able to perform job functions safely. Must be able to comply with Company rules.

Special Requirements
