About the job
The Welding Shop General Labourer will report to the Welding Supervisor and Lead Hand to assist with ad hoc requirements and cleaning needs within the shop bay.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Journeyman on site
- Movement of material and equipment
- Grinding/cleanup of finished components
- Stamp critical information on finished components
- Operation of industrial metal bandsaw
- Familiarity with measuring tools and equipment (imperial measurement familiarity preferred)
- Familiarity with structural steel identification and sizes
- Cover job duties within the department (vacations and leaves)
- Basic clean-up and material coordination
- Operation of Forklift
- Various other duties as required
- Overtime as required
Knowledge & Skills
Must be willing to work in a safe, conscious environment
Must be motivated and have good communication skills
Candidate must have a positive attitude with the ability to work well with others and on their own
Education
A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
Experience
Oilfield services experience is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
Accuracy and attention to detail with numbers are a must
Forklift experience is a definite asset
Training available to the right candidate
