Yard Supervisor Jobs in USA
About the job
The yard supervisor is responsible for loading/unloading trucks, picking, checking, packing, and receiving orders as assigned. They are also responsible for maintaining all the infrastructure at Houston Technical Support Center.
Responsibilities
- Picking, packing and preparation of orders for daily shipments
- Completing equipment transfers in SAP for assets
- Inspecting forklifts and maintaining yard equipment
- Receiving and sorting buy-out materials
- Checking the accuracy of delivered items against vendor delivery slips
- Goods receipts/issuing of buyouts and inventory materials within the ERP system
- Scheduling, loading, and unloading freight and materials as instructed
- Distributing paperwork to appropriate personnel for goods receipt
- Coordinating order discrepancies and other issues with purchaser
- Safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Assist with inventory receiving and shelf restocking
- Assist with physical inventory counts
- Follow and support all Precision Drilling policies and procedures
- General warehouse maintenance such as cleaning and organization
- Weekly pick-up and delivery of materials and products
- Complete Equipment Transfers as needed
- Maintaining a clean driving record
- Working overtime hours when required, including on-call rotation
- Various other duties as required
Knowledge and Skills
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Computer skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and manage time appropriately.
- Detail oriented
- A team player and collaborative worker with a positive attitude
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar role
- Material handling Knowledge including fork-lift operation are essential but not required.
- Prior warehousing experiences
- Experience with SAP Ariba an asset
