Job Summary:
Supervise and control night-shift drilling operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and successful well operations. Coordinate closely with the OIM, Client Representative, Driller, and drilling crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise drilling, workover, well control, and drill-floor activities.
- Plan and monitor drilling operations in line with the approved well program.
- Ensure compliance with company, client, safety, and well-control procedures.
- Monitor well-control parameters and assist with well-kill operations when required.
- Ensure drilling equipment, BOP, mud pumps, top drive, drawworks, and other critical equipment are ready and maintained.
- Participate in emergency response activities, safety drills, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate drilling logs, daily reports, equipment records, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with the OIM, Client Representative, third-party personnel, and other departments.
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop the drilling crew.
- Support rig-move preparations and ensure drilling equipment is properly secured.
Requirements
- High School or Vocational/Technical qualification.
- 15+ years’ drilling/workover experience with reputable drilling contractors.
- Career progression through Assistant Driller → Driller → Toolpusher.
- Minimum 2 years’ Toolpusher experience.
- Proven offshore drilling rig experience.
- Intermediate English and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong drilling mathematics, communication, teamwork, and situational-awareness skills.
- Valid WellSharp or IADC Well Control Certificate.
- Must meet applicable ADES training and competency requirements.
- Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts and in challenging offshore conditions.
