AMO Technician (Drilling Services) Jobs in Midland
About the job
As an AMO Technician, you will be based in our Midland, TX workshop, supporting the delivery of high-quality solutions to our Permian Basin customers. This role focuses on electromechanical maintenance, ensuring safety, quality, and operational excellence while contributing to the success of a highly skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, test, assemble, disassemble, and inspect electromechanical equipment and assemblies
Repair, rework, and modify non-conforming tools and equipment
Perform complex testing with minimal supervision using proper documentation
Identify technical issues and apply logical troubleshooting methods to resolve them
Support and mentor fellow technicians in areas of expertise
Follow all HS&E policies and safety procedures at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 1+ year of electrical/electronics experience or related technical field
Ability to read wiring diagrams and solder electrical connections
Experience using multimeters, meg-ohm meters, hi-pot testers, and similar instruments
Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electromechanical components
Ability to obtain a passport within 90 days
Willingness to travel domestically/internationally (approx. 5%)
Flexibility to work on-call and weekends when required
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
Oilfield service experience
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
SAP system knowledge
Experience performing functional testing on assemblies
